About Act4SDGs

Find the people already making a difference around you.

What this is

Act4SDGs is two things in one place: a real, growing directory of local initiatives and events tagged to the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals — community gardens, food banks, recycling projects, youth organisations, one-off cleanups and workshops — searchable by topic, country, and whether they welcome volunteers; and a plain-English look at how the world, and individual countries, are actually doing on each of those 17 goals, using real official statistics rather than opinion.

Why it exists

Most people don't know what's already happening in their own community. This site turns “who's working on climate, hunger, or education near me?” into something searchable, instead of something you'd only ever stumble onto by chance.

Where the listings come from

Every activity on the map arrives one of a few ways: organisations submitting themselves, automatic discovery from public sources, official event calendars, or someone nominating an initiative they know about. Nothing is published automatically — a person reviews every single one before it goes live.

Where the numbers come from

The country and goal statistics come from the World Bank, the UN's own SDG database, and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network's Sustainable Development Report — shown either exactly as published, or combined into this site's own scores using a documented method. Who's behind it

Act4SDGs is an independent, volunteer-built project — not run by, or officially affiliated with, the United Nations, SDSN, or any government body. Official SDG icons are used under the UN's own non-UN informational-use terms; SDSN's report data is shown with their permission, credited and kept clearly separate from this site's own scores.
